Amplifier notes:- In general, there is no need to fit 75 Ohm terminators to unused amplifier or Loft Box outputs. Those amplifiers and Loft Boxes with an unused input might require a terminator to prevent interference. Where an amplifier is stated to have, for example, a 7dB gain, this refers to the amplification given to every output signal compared with the input signal. Satellite/aerial signal combiner system |
| | Note: You can use this "combiner" as a decombiner as well. So if you don't want to use a wall plate, you can order TWO combiners instead. |
| |
| Connect your aerial and LNB into the combiner upstairs, indoors, as close to the TV aerial as possible. Connect the combiner output to the outlet plate downstairs using a single continuous run of double-shielded cable (see page 8). (Ordinary "TV aerial cable" is very unlikely to give satisfactory results so please do not ask). Combines both signals into one cable and separates them at the outlet plate. Note: The units allow the LNB voltage and 22kHz signals to pass to the LNB without reaching the aerial. Some signal loss is inevitable so this system is not recommended for installation where the signal is already borderline in bad weather. In some cases the aerial signal may need additional amplification/attenuation. To combine two satellite LNB signals you need a Stacker/Destacker which we no longer sell. |
| FM+DAB+UHF triplexer |
| Combine all your aerial feeds into one cable. This can be fed into the DIP2 (above) to add the LNB feed as well. So all feeds can go down one cable to a decombiner wall plate (diplexer or triplexer plate) or to another V24-310 to decombine them. See technical section for wiring diagram suggestion. It can also be used to combine your aerial feeds into a Global amplified splitter. You do not have to use all aerial inputs. Unused inputs should be fitted with a 75 Ohm terminator if interference occurs (usually it won't). |

Low Cost Amplified Splitters (SkyLink compatible) |
| Please read our NOTES. Also called "distribution amplifiers" or (incorrectly) "distributors". 2-way distribution amplifier |
| | Labgear CA121-F. This is a 2-way distribution amplifier (8dBgain) which is compatible with the SkyLink "magic eye" remote extender systems (TV Link, DigiLink, SLXlink etc. on page 3), providing a 9 volt supply for all types of "magic eye". Requires threaded "F" connectors on the cable. Use double-shielded cable throughout. It can be powered by the Sky Digibox "RF Outlet 2" (or with any regulated 9 volt DC power supply fitted with a 3.5mm jack plug). Where amplification is not required (short cable runs) you may be able to use our low-cost 2-way passive splitter instead. The CA121-F is a budget version of the F120 below. See Technical notes |
| 4-way distribution amplifier |
| Labgear CA141-F. This is a 4-way distribution amplifier (7dB gain) which is compatible with the SkyLink "magic eye" remote extender systems (TV Link, DigiLink, SLXlink etc. on page 3), providing a 9 volt supply for all types of "magic eye". Requires threaded "F" connectors on the cable. Use double-shielded cable throughout. It can be powered by the Sky Digibox* "RF Outlet 2" or with any regulated 9 volt DC power supply fitted with a 3.5mm jack plug. The CA141-F is a budget version of the F140 below. Right-click HERE to download PDF data sheet for CA121/CA141. See Technical notes * Not all Sky Digiboxes can supply power to more than two "magic eyes". You may need to buy a separate power supply in addition. (Currently we don't offer a PSU for this.) |
| Amplifier SkyLink Bypass Kit |
| Amplifier Bypass Kit Allows the magic eye signals to go backwards around an ordinary RF amplified splitter (UHF distribution amplifier). It has no other use. It's better to use a SkyLink compatible amplified splitter (above) but if you've already installed the wrong type of amplifier, the Bypass Kit might be a cheap fix. You can use only one ONE of these per amplifier. You can't use this with a passive splitter. See page 3 for Digilink and SLXlink |
| Global DA (7dB gain) - T120, T140 and T180 Amplifiers Also called "distribution amplifiers" or (incorrectly) "distributors". |
| Global 2- and 4-way distribution amplifiers are UHF TV signal distribution amplifiers which are 100% compatible with the SkyLink system, allowing the 9 volt supply to pass through, and with digital TV. Unlike other amplifiers they can tolerate both high and low input levels. Flat gain response between 40MHz and 850MHz allows UHF, DAB and VHF signals to be combined and fed into the amplifier (but a Loft Box is a better way to do this). 2 Way, 4 Way and 8 Way available 2 Way, 4 Way needs a dc inserter/PSU if used without Sky Digibox. (If you use an Amp without a Sky Digibox you must order a separate power supply). 8-way needs a Power Supply (supplied with it) and access to a 230v mains power point. 2 Way and 4 Way can be powered by the Sky Digibox* OR by the tvLINK-Plus system. * Not all Sky Digiboxes can supply power to more than two "magic eyes". You may need to order the separate power supply in addition. This also applies for the Humax Foxsat when used with our modulator kit. NOTE: "F" types require "F" connectors on the coaxial cable (easier to fit). Others require male TV plugs. Make sure the centre TV plug wire is crimped or soldered. Use double-shielded cable (eg. RG6 type). DC socket plug should be 5mm O/D x 2.5mm I/D. If you wish to combine aerial feeds into an amplifier you will need a V24-310 (above). See Technical notes Download Instructions |
| Need more than 8 outputs? See our Amp Adder or the F280 below... 16 way UHF distribution amplifier |
| - Skylink compatible
- 8dB gain with 12 volt power supply
- Typical noise figure 3dB
- Output capability 85dBµV
- 47 - 860MHz bandwidth

| Power Supply for Global T120, T140, F120, F140 |
| When you use one of these amplifiers *without* connecting it to a Sky Digibox or tvLINK-Plus system, you will need this power supply unit. 9v/500mA (E.g. when using it for a non-Sky satellite system or a terrestrial aerial system.) Not suitable for Labgear amplifiers that use a 3.5mm jack plug connection. |

| Labgear HDU681S Loft Box |
| | Labgear TV Distribution System It is a distribution system similar to the one below. More info and purchase. |
| Philex |
| The Philex unit is obsolete and has been superseded by the Labgear HDU681S. It is a distribution system similar to the one below. More info and purchase. |
| Global LoftBox |
| The Global 'LoftBox' is an integrated INHome Distribution system. It has additional expansion accessories available for purchase which are not available for the Philex unit. Normally located in the Loft, it combines TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & Satellite onto one down cable, feeding to a Global Triplexing wallplate or a MSWP in the living room. (See wall plates below). The 'LoftBox' takes a return feed from the living room which would typically be from the UHF2 output from the Sky digibox. FM & DAB are diplexed onto the return feed & then distributed to additional points within the house via Global TV/FM diplex wallplates. Each outlet point is able to receive normal terrestrial TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & the selected Satellite channel. The 'LoftBox' fully supports the Infrared control signals from the tvLINK Remote Eye back to the Sky digibox. More info and purchase. |

| with Multiroom connections for Sky+ Digital More info and purchase. |
| The Global Loftbox expander |
| The Global Loftbox expander has been designed to allow two LNB outputs to be connected to an existing Loftbox distribution system. It is ideally suited for use when a SKY+ receiver is being installed which requires two feeds from the dish but there are no spare cables available to take the extra signal feed. The unit operates by adding the additional dish signal onto the returning UHF cable between the RF2 port and the UHF2 port on the Loftbox. A diplexer WILL be required in the living room in order to successfully extract the second dish signal ready for connecting into the satellite receiver. You MUST use proper satellite cable for all feeds. More info. |
