Ferrite Ring Filter

Pass your TV aerial lead through this ring a couple of times and set it as close to the aerial input of your Freeview receiver or TV as possible. The ring will reduce the effects of "impulse" interference from switches, thermostats, motor vehicles etc. if the interference is passing down the shield of the cable. Also suitable for use on mains cable in Hi-Fi systems etc.

"Digital" UHF TV filter

This filter allows UHF frequencies from 470 to 860MHz to pass with minimal attenuation while reducing interference from outside the UHF band. (removes CB radio interference and can reduce the effects of interference from motor vehicles, amateur radio, fluorescent lights, dimmers etc.) Must be fitted to the aerial input of the Freeview receiver or TV. Also reduces analogue TV interference. Insertion loss is less than 1.5dB.

Grounding Rod - Earthing Rod 4ft x 5/8" (122cm x 15.8mm) copper plated steel with cable connection clamp. Ideal for earthing surge protectors, dish cables and electrical equipment. (Because of the weight and length, this item is sent by carrier).

Earthing bar for coaxial cable incorporating two "F" connectors and an earth cable clamp screw. If used outside, this unit should be mounted in (for example) a plastic sandwich box to keep out moisture. The connections can be further moistureproofed by applying silicone grease. The earth cable should be grounded by means of an earthing rod (see above).

7 Day timer

If you go on holiday and switch off all sockets at the mains (as you are supposed to do) your Sky Digibox will be unable to receive software updates or dial BskyB in accordance with your contract. But if you leave it powered up, there's a risk that it could be damaged by a power surge during an electrical surge or even cause a fire. The risk is minimal but it's there - especially if you leave cats in the house with a neighbour feeding them once or twice a day!

One way to minimise the risk while still getting software updates is to connect a time switch that will switch the Digibox on for, say, 8 hours overnight once a week.

If you go on holiday you can give the impression that someone is at home by using this timer to switch on a light at various times during the evening.
