| Note: Ready-made leads The ready-made leads, below, are very flexible and convenient to use. However none of them is as well shielded as the leads on our cable page and we recommend that, for more critical applications where interference could be a problem, you use the better leads* or make your own leads by ordering cable from the cable page and TV or F plugs from this page. * A TV-toF adapter may be required. Tidy the hole in your wall by tapping this plastic cable bush into it. 7 mm hole through centre. Requires 10 mm hole in wall. Choose translucent white plastic or black. | | Cable entry cover | | | Hides untidy holes drilled in the wall. Brown (picture) or White plastic. Can be glued in place with silicone adhesive. Size: typically 11 cm x 11 cm x 3 cm (may vary because we buy from various manufacturers). | | Self Amalgamating tape just 2p per inch! | | | AMALG2P - a cheaper alternative Remove plastic backing, stretch it to twice its length and it welds to itself as you bind it. Essential for waterproofing "F" connector joints outside. Good for car radiator hose repairs, too! 10 inch length 20p or full reel £4.95. Typical LNB connection needs 5 inches. (Rubber boots for F connectors available - see connector page) | | | Twist-on 'F' connector plugs (threaded) All 'F' plug nuts are the same but the cable entry size varies. The "F" plugs that we stock have been carefully selected to match the cable that we supply. (Silicone grease should be applied. No special tools necessary. No soldering. You will require strong fingers or pliers.) So the RG6FPLUG is for SATDS cable, which is very soft and requires a fractionally tighter fit. The H109FPLUG suits the obsolete WC100, CT100 and H109F cables. The WF1FPLUG is for WF100 cable, which is foam-filled and requires the slackest fitting. So the internal thread of this plug is the widest diameter of the three. The difference in internal diameter is a fraction of a millimetre and virtually impossible to measure but it's important to get the fit right. We know of no other supplier that bothers to ensure that the plug fits the cable. If you are in any doubt, please order all three and try them. They aren't exactly expensive! We also supply coloured cable suitable for Sky, Freeview, Virgin. We offer cables cut to standard lengths. If you need an in-between size we can not help. (Originally we were offering custom lengths but this led to mistakes so we no longer offer this option.) You can order as many plugs as you like, either individually up to 99, or in packs of 100. We do not stock crimp-on connectors. (see F connector instructions). | | | Gold 'F' Plugs We don't stock them because: - The gold is a thin "flash" and won't last long outdoors
- There's no way to gold-plate the copper braid, or wire, which forms the "pin"
- LNB sockets are not usually gold-plated
- Nickel-plated plugs are fine when used with silicone grease

| Hand tool for fitting F plugs to cable |
| Save wear on your hands! |
| 'F' Connector Driver. Slotted socket tool for 'F' plugs |
| Thread on handle also assists in fitting plug to cable. The 'F' driver is a versatile tool designed for most television RF cable applications. The socket end helps get the connector into hard-to-reach spaces such as OCTO-LNBs, multi-taps and the back of satellite TV receivers. The threaded end is for 'F' connector insertion for fast and secure connector termination. Weight (kg): 0.095 - Tariff No.: 82055980 - Country of Orig: TW Taiwan |

| "F" push-on adapter |
| "F" push-on adapter (converts an 'F' plug to push-fit for easy disconnection - ideal for satellite finder meters or caravan quick-disconnect). (see F connector instructions ). Select "F" plugs to suit your cable. (Tight fit so use silicone grease.) Simply screws into any 'F' plug. |
| Threaded "F" barrel coupler. Cable joiner or panel mounting 'F' adapter. |
 | 090-3078 ( H090-3078 ) Threaded "F" barrel coupler (female-female) to join cables or to fit to a wall plate or to convert a standard F plug to female. Select "F" plugs to suit your cable. (see F connector instructions ). Integral hex shoulder. Nuts supplied with order on request if required for a wall plate. Tick box below. Q. Is it OK to use this coupler with cable that has a really thin centre wire? A. Provided that the coupler is new, it will be fine. Use silicone grease on all parts to ensure that it remains so. If you use a coupler that was previously fitted to cable with a thicker copper wire, the results are less certain. You should inspect it by eye to ensure that the two spring leaf contacts are touching each other. |

| TV to F adapter | | | 090-4333 TV male to F adapter - can be screwed to a thin panel using nut, above. Or screws onto an "F" connector so you can plug it into your Aerial input socket on satellite receiver or TV. Allows you to use double-screened coax cable like leads above! Use it with our leads to make a high quality extension TV lead or RF lead. Disadvantage: it makes a rather long plug and projects a long way. | TV to F adapter | | | AV20310 TV female to F adapter - can be screwed to a thin panel using nut, above. Or screws onto an "F" connector so you can plug an aerial lead into it. Allows you to use double-screened coax cable like leads above! Use it with our leads to make a high quality extension TV lead or RF lead. Disadvantage: it makes a rather long plug and projects a long way. | |
| Right angle F adapter |
| Right angle F adapter is used where you prefer the cable to hang straight down or where space is restricted. Simply screw it into an "F" connector. |
| 5-way earth-bond plate |
| Labgear PSC050. This is a 5-way earth-bond plate comprising a metal plate bent at right angles with two screw holes and five 090-3078 Threaded "F" barrel fitted. Ideal for using as a distribution plate for up to 5 LNB cables where, perhaps, you need to select 1 out of up to 5 for watching various satellites. More efficient than an LNB switch (virtually no losses compared with typically 4 dB for a switch). Use with 090-3636 "F" push-on adapter and Select "F" plugs to suit your cable. Also recommended for lightning protection at the point of entry into the building. (Saw off what you don't need). |

| Thin flat cable for window entry |
| An extremely thin flat cable with threaded "F" connector each end for passing through narrow gaps such as windows and doors. The length of cable between connectors is 170 mm. No measurable loss of signal or quality. Suitable for Digital satellite as well as Analogue or ordinary TV. Select "F" plugs to suit your cable. |
Adapters and Belling-Lee TV plugs Whichever you choose, it's best to use grease or petroleum jelly to make it easier to release. Also ensure that there is minimal weight hanging on it because the total leverage can damage it (or any socket that it's plugged onto). |
| Female barrel connector (to join two male TV plugs) Disadvantage: may be too loose or too tight on some plugs and can't be adjusted. Plastic may need to be cut away for some applications. |
| |
| | Male/female adapter (to convert a male TV plug). It has two female ends. |

| UHF TV plug male (nickel plated brass) |
| |
| UHF TV plug female |
| |
| TV coax plug twist-on steel |
| Right-angle TV |
| | Right-angle TV coax plug male (no solder) |
| | These right-angle plugs are ideal for fitting into narrow gaps behind wall-mounted TV sets. Screw secures coaxial cable. IMPORTANT: If the gap between TV and wall is too narrow even for these plugs, then it will probably overheat. It is essential to have sufficient space to allow a good airflow. |
| | Note: This female plug is inflexible. If you use it with a male TV plug or socket on "top tolerance" (too wide a diameter) it will be an extremely tight fit. Please do not force it. Use a different plug/socket. (Silicone grease can help.) |
