| The following instructions also apply to the VERY low cost RF modulator, although it looks different. It needs to be powered by the LNB supply or with a regulated 12 volt plug-top dc power supply (we supply one with it). You will also need an RF lead. This cheap unit is adjustable for PAL-I or PAL-G. Please note: although most are supplied as PAL-I, some are already adjusted for PAL-G. We have no way of knowing without testing them so you might have to adjust yours when it arrives (instructions supplied - not difficult). Dear SatCure, Thank you for the adjustment instructions which I downloaded. Turns out my modulator's black adjuster screw needed something like a 1/2 turn, not the 3/4 turn as suggested in the instructions. This resulted in yet more noise and some delay. I've been busy taking the modulator apart, making fine adjustments, reassembling it, checking out the sound, taking it apart again etc. I think I've got the best position now but the sound is quieter than I'd imagined. Still it will do. Its good that you do warn potential customers about this adjustment but I think you should add that although it isn't necessary difficult it may be time consuming finding the optimum position for the screw. Especially if one has to obtain and shave down a knitting needle or other implement to perform the task. It would be quite nerve racking if you weren't used to disassembling electrical equipment and handling circuit boards, and knowing how extremely fragile the ferrite powder screw is! Anyway that's me done whinging. Thanks again for your help. All the best, Jane |
