| Some Panasonic Sky Digiboxes exhibit the following symptoms: "No Satellite Signal .." message when ITV or BBC (and other Astra 2D programmes) are selected. This is usually intermittent and can be cured by flicking up and down the channels and always by momentarily disconnecting the LNB cable at the tuner "F" connector behind the Digibox. This kit is for the TU-DSB30, 31, 35 and 40. It will definitely NOT fit non-Panasonic receivers. The cause of this problem was an unstable LNB power circuit inside the receiver. Under certain circumstances it would break into oscillation and fool the LNB into thinking it was receiving a 22kHz signal, causing it to switch to high-band. If a low-band transponder was selected when this happened, a message would appear on screen saying "For your information - no satellite signal is being received". The oscillation could be stopped - for a while - by either disconnecting the LNB, or disconnecting the power to the Digibox, or by using the Installer Setup Menu option to set the LNB power to OFF then to ON. Although some "experts" advocated it, it was never necessary to set the 22kHz signal to OFF and doing this caused many problems when users omitted to set it to ON again! Indeed, I had several Digiboxes for "repair" where the only "fault" was this menu setting. Because nobody (except me, apparently) actually understood what was happening, the rumour spread that ANY "no signal" fault on ANY Sky Digibox could be cured by fiddling with the LNB menu screen and thus "resetting the LNB". Of course this was complete nonsense because there is nothing inside an LNB to reset and the problem affected only those Digiboxes made by Panasonic. However, Sky employees (and other "experts") still (2011) try to help customers by telling them to "reset the LNB" and also to "wipe static off the card" - another bullshit baffles brains suggestion, which has been spread far and wide by well-meaning people who are not experts. (Don't bother to tell them they are wrong. They probably won't understand.) So, when somebody suggests that you should "reset the LNB" or "wipe the card", just smile nicely and do it. They don't know any better and it's a complete waste of time to argue with ignorant people. However, if you really feel the need to educate them, click on this link and insert their email address. Send this page address - CLICK HERE - to a friend ! PANAFIX2D is NO LONGER AVAILABLE Click HERE for information on making it yourself. The SatCure Panafix2D Filter will cure these symptoms and is easy to fit with just 3 wires to solder. If these are not your symptoms then the filter is unlikely to help. Models affected: TU-DSB30, TU-DSB31, TU-DSB35, TU-DSB40 (and NO OTHERS). Before considering a filter, you MUST carry out these tests: Read the label. Does it say "Panasonic"? If the answer is "no" then don't bother to read any further. This is for PANASONIC Sky Digiboxes only. When "No satellite Signal.." message appears, disconnect the LNB cable at the tuner "F" connector behind the Digibox then reconnect it. Make sure that the picture and sound appear within 30 seconds. Take your Digibox to the house of a friend or relative (or a shop with testing facilities) and make sure it works (cold and fully warmed-up) correctly on all channels with a different LNB. This proves that your receiver is not faulty. Borrow a Sky Digibox (not Panasonic) and connect it to your LNB. Make sure it works (cold and fully warmed-up) correctly on all channels. This proves that your installation (dish, LNB, cable) is not faulty. If all three tests are OK then the filter should cure your problem. Otherwise, it shouldn't. | ||||||

| I have been complaining to Sky digital about the problem with reception of BBC2 & ITV1 (channels 102 and 103) on my Panasonic digibox for weeks now. (I missed two Formula 1 Grand Prix and I was fuming!). Their technical support department were either completely unaware of the PANAFIX2D device or they were lying to me. There must be thousands of people with the Panasonic TU-DSB30, the least Sky could do is put a notice of the problem in their customer magazine with your web address. I suggest that you badger them to do so ! Regards Vince | ||||||
| Just a quick note to say thanks for the brilliant service. I ordered a panafix from you yesterday (Monday) and it arrived today. Within 30 mins of getting home, the unit was installed in my TU-DSB20 and has solved all of my reception problems. Well done! Angus Marshall | ||||||

Wanted to let you know you have another satisfied customer. The filter I ordered arrived in only 3 days (amazing when a letter usually takes 2 weeks to get here). I'm not great with a soldering iron (I think it's a great success when I pick up the cold end!) but it only took me half an hour to fit including drilling a hole for the LED. My Panasonic TUDSB30 now receives all Astra 2D channels perfectly, using an 80cm dish here in Holland. 20 quid (inc. VAT & fast delivery) well-spent! The only question I have now is why Panasonic can't make a Digibox that works in the first place... Thanks, David | ||||||
| Just thought I'd let you know..... I bought mine last week for my TU DSB31, followed the instructions and it works a treat. No more annoying "No Satellite Signal" messages. Thanks by the way for the quick delivery service. Regards John Hatton | ||||||
| MOO15 INVOICE NO: 28960 Just to say thanks for producing such a great product. It has saved me a load of cash. Really easy to install and all the channels are finally working. Regards Andrew Moorby | ||||||
| Dear Martin, Panafix2D for my Panasonic TUDSB31 was delivered today after my weekend enquiry. I installed it this morning. I am a no magician with a soldering iron but installation was easy thanks to instructions and the fix actually works. So thank you, not for the first time, for your good service and advice. Alan Eberst SUCCESS!! The filter works perfectly, as advertised. The red light comes on and stays on whenever any of the previously missing channels are selected. Many thanks for your help. Yours sincerely, Gary Dyson The Panasonic filter arrived today It works a treat Many thanks Mike Ward The filter that you designed works perfectly, and I am reasonably useful with a soldering iron. Thanks for the email to let me know about the design change. I wasn't aware that there was a cure for the Astra/Panasonic problem until I stumbled upon your site virtually by accident. I am sure that there must be thousands of Sky Digital viewers with Panasonic boxes in a similar position. Thanks again, Adrian can now receve all the chanels i should thanks again Jordan
