| Special Offers From time to time one of our suppliers announces a special offer on remaining stock that will soon be obsolete. This time, however, I'm going to do my best so that you at least get a chance to benefit! Please order right away because this lot will be gone. Get your spouse to treat you for Christmas? I write for the Consumer's association, so it might be interesting for you to know that there's a permanent link to your main site from the Consumer's association site - Which? OnLine - and when queries arise in the specialist help forums on there, we inevitably refer folk to you. Keep up the excellent work, Martin. Regards Ian Join our Joint Venture Scheme Our scheme is now LIVE. Here's how it works. When you join our affiliate scheme (free) you get two eBooks (free) that help you in web page creation and business. We ask you to write a brief report on something that we sell and put that on your web page. You get a "form" to put on your web page that offers a lbs1 discount voucher to your visitors. When a visitor uses the voucher in our "shopping cart" he gets his lbs1 discount but YOU also get a small percentage of the sale profit. So everyone wins! TV Incompatibility Dear Martin, Many thanks your reply. The problem was one of compatibility. I did the simple thing first - enter digibox video menu and change RGB drive to PAL. Sorted - why didn't I think it? Perfect picture quality, perfect audio = happy Sky subscriber. Thank you. It's worth passing on to other readers. Regards, Henry November 9, 2003 Thanks for the feedback. Although RGB should (in theory) give a better picture, in practice the reconstituted digital Sky picture (just add water and stir) is so poor and causes so many problems with modern TV sets that PAL is usually the safest bet. Some sets that offer 100Hz scanning and "Digital processing" often give very poor pictures from a Sky Digibox. For some reason the Panasonic boxes seem worse than others, in this respect, with owners being forced to disable the TV's special features. Beko TV remote The standard Sky Digibox remote does not control Beko TV sets but our 3-in-1 Sky Digital universal remote control A324-00001 does list "Beko" as an option. It also controls some VCRs, so it may be worth trying. Freeview/FTV hi martin, ive just cancelled my sky subscription because im more in favour for free view for obvious reasons as my area postcode say I cannot receive freeview is there a way of getting freeview by using my old digital dish and sky digibox , without buying a new receiver many thank lee You will need a terrestrial aerial and Freeview receiver, since most Freeview programmes are not broadcast by Sky. Alternatively, you could buy a FTV (Free To View) card for £23.50 and use the Sky Digibox to receive those programmes instead. http://www.free2view.TV 08700 541800 FIVE move Channel FIVE on 12110H has gone, but the versions on 12304H are still there on the 2B North beam. This will not affect anyone in or near the UK but people further away may need to alter settings if FIVE has "disappeared". (Note that you need a viewing card and a Sky Digibox to receive FIVE) Catalogue update I finally got around to updating our downloadable catalogue. Apologies for the delay. It's still not as up-to-date as I'd like but at least most of the links now go to the correct web pages! http://www.satcure.co.uk/catalog.htm eBook updates "Understanding Sky Digital TV" November 10, 2003 Changed wording to reflect new FTV card situation. "Be Found" (web site optimisation) November 10, 2003 Rewritten with some added material. eBooks are now called eBooks instead of "virtual books". You can now pay SatCure direct for eBooks, using the "shopping cart" with secure payment page. You can even pay by cheque or cash if you wish (a lot of people asked me for this so now's your chance!) May I point out (again) that we can NOT supply printed copies of eBooks. I still get people writing to ask "when will I receive my printed copy?" despite the FAQ page which explains everything quite clearly. Printing is quite expensive. I suggest you read your book on-screen then print out any individual pages that you might need to refer to while away from your computer. http://www.satcure.co.uk/book.htm |
