| | When you clip the cable round a corner, drop it down one brick course so that the bend-radius is large. If you wrap it too tightly, the cable might kink, causing "channels missing" symptoms! Alternatively, cut away the corner mortar, allowing the cable to sit in the slot and make a shallow curve. | | | Apply silicone adhesive to the brick-burst cover. The syringe is supplied without a plunger so use an old pen or a piece of wood dowel. The shelf life of the adhesive is very short so use it within a week. One syringe contains sufficient adhesive for one cover. | | | Press the cover firmly to the wall. Secure it with one or two nails from cable clips if you think the glue won't hold it immediately. Wherever possible, run the cable behind features such as window sills, gutters and drainpipes to minimise the visual impact. (In this example the drainpipe was new so it was a simple matter to remove the bright, shiny screws and take down the pipe while we clipped the cable to the wall.) | | NOTE: The cable must always approach the cable from below, so that water can not run down the outside of it and into the hole. If the cable comes down the wall, form it into a "drip loop" below the hole. IMPORTANT! The silicone adhesive has a short "shelf life" and should be used soon after purchase. If the glue sets in the nozzle, use a nail or paperclip to clear it. Aim syringe away from yourself and others! DANGER! Wear polythene gloves and eye protection while handling the syringe. Keep it out of reach of children. Keep adhesive away from skin and eyes as it contains strong acetic acid (as in vinegar) and may irritate. In case of eye contact, wash with water and seek medical help. If adhesive stains clothing, apply detergent and wash immediately before glue sets. After glue sets it may be picked out with tweezers (success not guaranteed). | ©2008 SatCure Send this page address - CLICK HERE - to a friend ! | | Understanding Sky Digital TV This FREE 65 page eBook is available for download in the form of a ".pdf" file which you can then read on screen or print out .
