 | This page contains all known codes for TV sets. Sky television codes. It includes setting-up procedures for early remotes, later remotes and Sky-plus remotes. The codes also apply to the Open keyboard . The original Digibox remote might be programmed to control your TV set, provided that your TV was built before 1999. Later revisions (see label inside battery compartment) include later TV model codes but drop some very early ones. Sky collects new codes from TV manufacturers and stores them in its database. Every couple of years, Sky gives these codes to the remote manufacturer and a new revision remote will appear on the market. The remote includes BASIC functions such as up/down, volume and number keys. it *might* also include special functions such as text, but don't count on it. See accessories Catalogue for Digibox remotes. Sky+ Remotes only £19.98 inclusive! TIP: Before buying a new TV set, get your retailer to confirm that it responds to the latest revision Sky remote. Make sure you have the latest revision.
| | Do you have my code here? Not every TV is included in the code list. In fact, although it was claimed that "95 percent" of TVs could be controlled by the Digibox remote, the true figure is probably "95 percent of last year's models" and the standard remote will NOT control your Video Recorder or any other equipment. UPDATE July 11, 2007. The latest versions of the remotes are SKY Rev.8 and SKY+ remote are Rev.8 and Sky-HD are Rev.8. (Look at label inside the battery compartment). These remotes contain codes for more recent TV sets and omit codes for TV sets that are now several years old. We do stock some earlier revisions but only those listed in our on-line shop. If your TV is a recent model, you'll probably need the most recent remote revision. If there's a code for your TV, that's great. If there isn't, *PLEASE* DO NOT WRITE TO ME to ask if I know any other codes. I don't. Write to BskyB with your TV make, model and chassis number. If there's enough demand, they might include it in a future Revision. If you have a universal remote which is NOT a Sky remote, contact your supplier or the manufacturer - don't ask me. HOW To Search This Page - It seems a lot of PC users don't know how to use the "Find" function in their browser. I get lots of messages complaining that "I can't find LG in your list of remote control codes" or "I can't find tvLINK on your catalogue page".
- OK, on an Apple Mac you press [cmd] [F]. Under Windows it's [ctrl] [F].
IMPORTANT The second list of codes on this page refers to the Sky remotes that came in a bag labelled URC-1610-00 B00 and have a label inside the battery compartment (at the side) marked G021502 (and earlier revisions). Later remotes were labelled RC1600/00U. They had a label marked "rev 6" inside the battery compartment. They have a loudspeaker symbol on the zero button. Revision 4 , 6 and 8 remotes have some different codes! Sky have changed some codes from older TV sets to codes which work newer models. So you'll find that the codes listed here MAY NOT WORK. So please use the code-finding sequence instead. I you can't find a code to work your TV then there probably isn't one!
I you need an earlier revision remote, look in our on-line shop. Otherwise, try the eBay auction site or ask in the discussion forums. The select and Yellow function (key magic) no longer works from the REV 4 remote onwards. There are at least FIVE versions of the remote control in use. The original remote with the word SKY inscribed within a white ellipse on the blue button. Second issue looks the same as the original but has updated codes. And the third issue has the word SKY with a crescent shaped swirl printed in white on the blue button. This version has a slightly different procedure to enter a 3 digit code. (The latest one has no white swirl on the blue SKY button). Only the latest version is available for sale from SatCure. Later versions have the version number on a label inside the battery compartment. | |
