| Disconnecting Equipment Safely Disconnecting anything from your satellite TV receiver or Sky Digibox Before touching any connections, put into standby*, then unplug (from the wall socket) the Digibox and other connected equipment (TV, DVD). All or any of these can carry leakage voltages while connected to the power socket. The voltages aren't dangerous per se but could cause damage to your Digibox. Other receivers connected to the LNB could also have stray voltage on their chassis. Once everything is unplugged, wait a few minutes for internal capacitors to discharge. Make sure you don't discharge body static into any sockets by placing your hand on the bare metal rear panel before disconnecting anything. *In the case of PVRs, give the Hard Drive time to "spin down" before disconnecting the power plug. |
